Hello, I'm Lukas Atkinson, and I am available for full-time software development positions. (→ deutsche Version)

When: I am available starting October 2023.

Where: I am primarily interested in remote positions, but will also consider positions in the Rhein-Main-Area, Germany.

What: I want to work as a mid-level individual contributor in a software development role, but would be open to additional responsibilities in the right organization.

Skills:

  • I am mostly interested in backend work, but also have some fullstack web development experience.

  • During the last couple of years, I have primarily used Python, Rust, C++, and Linux professionally.

  • I like applying statistical methods.

  • Ultimately, I am pragmatic about languages, tech stacks, and problem domains. I enjoy the challenge of becoming an expert in something, as long as my work has positive impact.

What I'm currently doing: I currently work as a computer science research assistant at a small university. My work there focuses on network security, distributed systems, and recently also virtualization and containerization tech like Docker. What I enjoy about that job is turning new ideas into working code, and enabling students to achieve results.

But my strongest skill is programming, so I would like to do more actual software development in my future.

Things I'm not interested in:

  • Industries: I won't do web3, crypto, or SAP consulting. I also won't work on privacy-invasive technology.

  • Job types: I'm not so good at sales-related things.

Hallo, ich bin Lukas Atkinson, und ich stehe für Vollzeit-Stellen als Software-Entwickler zur Verfügung.

Wann: Ich bin ab Oktober 2023 verfügbar.

Wo: Ich bin hauptsächlich an Stellen mit Homeoffice interessiert, ziehe aber auch Stellen im Rhein-Main-Gebiet in Erwägung.

Was: Ich möchte als Mid-Level Software-Entwickler arbeiten, kann mir aber je nach Unternehmen auch zusätzliche Aufgaben vorstellen.

Skills:

  • Ich bin hauptsächlich an Backend-Tätigkeiten interessiert, habe aber auch ein bisschen Fullstack-Erfahrung.

  • In den letzten Jahren habe ich beruflich hauptsächlich Python, Rust, C++ und Linux benutzt.

Was ich zur Zeit mache: Ich arbeite als ein Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter für Informatik an einer Hochschule. Meine Arbeit dort hat einen Fokus auf IT-Sicherheit und verteilte Systeme, neuerlich auch auf Virtualisierungs- und Containerisierungs-Technologien wie Docker. Ich liebe an meinem Job, neue Ideen in lauffähige Software umzuwandeln, sowie Studierende zu Erfolgen zu befähigen.

Meine größte Stärke ist aber die Programmierung, sodass ich in Zukunft gerne mehr Software-Entwicklung machen würde.

Sachen an denen ich nicht interessiert bin:

  • Geschäftsfelder: Ich werde nichts in die Richtung Web3, Crypto, oder SAP-Consulting tun. Ich habe außerdem kein Interesse an datenschutzfeindlichen Technologien.

  • Aufgabenprofile: Vertrieb ist nicht meine Stärke.
